Small, informal, participatory, and egalitarian USCJ affiliated synagogue
Chevrei Tzedek is an intimate, informal, participatory, and egalitarian USCJ affiliated synagogue in Baltimore City since 1987. Our name embraces the values of community and social justice, and our founding principles call on us to be partners in repairing the world, as well as partners in the day-to-day tasks of running a synagogue. Nicknamed “the little shul that could,” we rely on our members to be active volunteers. Volunteers help lead Shabbat and holiday services, give divrei Torah, provide a weekly kiddush, teach adult education programs, and handle our bookkeeping. Our teens help care for our tots, our seniors share their stories, and all voices, from youngest to oldest, join in song and study.
