Gramercy Mansion opened 1985.
What is your primary product or service?
We offer elegant overnight accommodations. Guest rooms feature antique furnishings and artwork and many offer fireplaces and whirlpool tubs.
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Owner Anne Pomykala has an avid interest in history and restoration. Several years ago, she purchased the Fava Building, now home to the fourth floor 1840s Ballroom, and the series of Federal-style rowhomes formerly housing the Baltimore City Life Museums. The rowhomes have been re-purposed are now an elegant urban inn.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Accommodations offer the same convenience of hotel rooms and suites but each room is distinctly and beautifully decorated with a charm of its own. A full gourmet breakfast served from a menu is included with an overnight stay. The location of the 1840s Carrollton Inn is ideal, in the heart of Baltimore's Heritage Walk and just blocks from the Inner Harbor and Little Italy.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
We currently have two locations: Gramercy Mansion in Baltimore county and 1840s Carrollton Inn in Baltimore city. We also own the venues at 1840s Plaza (1840s Ballroom, 1840s City Lites, 1840s Cabaret & 1840s Carroll Salon) in Baltimore city, elegant urban banquet facilities for corporate and private events.
