The Mother Church of American Methodism
The Lovely Lane congregation was host to the Christmas Conference of 1784 which founded Methodism as a denomination. The present building was designed by noted architect Stanford White, was completed in 1887, is listed on the Registry of Historic buildings and is one of the great churches in the country. Tours available by appointment. Museum open Thu. & Fr. 10am - 4pm.
